Terms of Service: 2018-19
Grading and feedback services. Grading and feedback licenses are available for teachers in grades K through 12. By purchasing an annual license, teachers gain access to high-quality, on-demand grading and feedback services to support student writing, expand teacher capacity, and drive results.
Our Graiders. Grading and feedback services are provided by “Graiders”. Graiders are undergraduate and graduate students from top U.S. colleges and universities across the country. Graiders undergo a rigorous screening and application process before being eligible to work with teachers.
Effective dates. Grading support must be used within the academic calendar year, from August 1, 2018, through June 15, 2019. Grading support requests before August 1, 2018, and after June 15, 2019, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Requests for summer support are welcome; those packages may be purchased separately.
Levels of Support. Our two most popular support levels are:
Level I: 4 to 6 writing assignments per teacher
Level II: 7 to 10 writing assignments per teacher
Custom quotes are available upon request.
Assignment requirements. To be eligible for scoring and feedback via The Graide Network platform, an assignment may be no longer than 5 pages typed, double-spaced or equivalent. Assignments beyond this length require a custom quote. For every assignment, teachers must provide a prompt and rubric that adheres to our Rubric Policy or choose from our curated rubric bank.
Tracking teacher usage. Assignments are subtracted from the teacher’s balance as her assignments are satisfactorily completed.
Adding support. Should a teacher want to purchase additional assignments during the academic calendar year after completing her package, The Graide Network will evaluate requests on a case-by-case basis. If there is capacity, we would be happy to discuss purchasing additional assignments.
Transferring assignments. Assignments cannot be transferred from one teacher to another without prior approval from The Graide Network. Transfer requests are at the discretion of The Graide Network and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Grading guarantee. Our commitment is to provide the best possible support for teachers. We actively work with Graiders to ensure their work product is of high quality, but we do not guarantee grading quality or timeliness. If a teacher is not satisfied with a Graider’s work, she can request a revision or choose to find a replacement Graider and will not be charged for that assignment.
Feedback and reviews. Participating teachers are responsible for rating and reviewing their Graider(s) after each assignment. We request that all participating teachers complete a survey at the end of the school year and, if asked, provide feedback on one 15-minute call with our team between February and June 2019.
Student records. The authorized school administrator agrees that their school or district’s notification of FERPA rights is broad enough to notify parents, guardians, and eligible students that entities like The Graide Network can be deemed school officials. Since The Graide Network has legitimate educational interests in the student information it receives, The Graide Network shall be deemed a “school official” in accordance with school or district policy. We collect as little data about students as possible and will not use that data to advertise or market to students or their parents. You can review our full privacy pledge here: www.thegraidenetwork.com/student-privacy-pledge.
Invoicing. Once confirmed, The Graide Network will deliver an invoice to the customer to be paid within 30 days of receipt unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Upon payment of the invoice, you are agreeing to The Graide Network’s Terms of Service as outlined above.
We appreciate the opportunity to support you in your important work and make a difference for your students!
